Sealed with Love Valentine - SUO Challenges

Are you thinking about creating something special for your Valentine?
Have you seen the amazing collection of stamps, framelits and ideas in the Sending Love Suite?

We are sharing some wonderful Valentines inspiration with you for our Stampin' Up! Only Challenges, and we'd love you to join in the fun too!!

For my card, I've decided to go for a different colour arrangement - using the beautiful soft colours of the Falling in Love DSP.  My card base is Crumb Cake, and I've stamped my greeting with Soft Suede.
Those totally gorgeous little envelopes come from the Love Notes Framelits, and I've used the Sending Love Glassine Sheets.  That gorgeous 'kiss' is stamped with Blushing Bride - mwah!

Lastly I've added a little burlap ribbon and lace trim along with some teeny tiny pearls.

We would love you to join in our challenge to celebrate Valentines Day - add your link to our blog using this graphic.

Easter Baskets

One of the special things I get to do is to volunteer at a local nursing home with the craft group.
Last time we started making some Easter baskets so that all of the residents will have something special on their breakfast table.

I scoured the wonderful creativity of lots of amazing people, and eventually decided on these two ideas which would be achievable for the ladies in the craft group.

Here are some of them created already - we have a another session this month to created lots more so we have enough for everyone!!

Stampin Up! Up In the Air with Saleabration CTC#113

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop for today - our 113th hop!!

This week we are CASEing the Sale-a-bration catalogue - and in particular, pages 4-7, which (as you may have guessed) includes the Carried Away FREE Sale-a-bration DSP.
This paper coordinates oh-so-perfectly with the Lift Me Up Bundle which includes 16 gorgeous stamps, and 15 coordinating framelits.

I have CASED this lovely 12" x 12" scrapbook page from the bottom of page 6.  It's always great to get another page done - and this was the perfect opportunity!!

There's lots of big shot cutting with this page, but it's so worth it - it looks great doesn't it?
I did change the wording of the greeting because "Dream Big" wasn't appropriate for my photos, but..... then I had the dilemma of what do I use as my title?  Eventually, (after much angst), I went with the name of the stamp set - Lift Me Up - and added a 'you' from the Hello You thinlits.

The only other change I've made is to add in more photos
(I've always got lots of photos to add to my pages!!).

I hope you've been inspired.
Now it's time to hop along to see the great project Judy has for you.

And this week, the colours are:  Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, Whisper White, and Garden Green.  Aren't they gorgeous!!!

I've pulled out one of my favourite new stamps for this lovely soft colour palette - Builder Birdcage and stamped those gorgeous cages with Garden Green, Wisteria Wonder, and Soft Sky.  I then used a little more ink to gently watercolour them to give a little more depth.

The large greeting is in Mint Macaron and cut using the Hello You thinlits, and this is embellished with some more birds which have been fussy cut.  If you don't mind a slightly skinnier bird, you can use the Tree Builder punch too for these little guys.

It's a bit tricky to see in the photo, but I've also added a little dazzling diamonds to these wisteria birds, so they are very sparkly!!

Now it's time for you to hop on along to see Mel's gorgeous jar of flowers.

Stampin' Up! Cupcakes and Carousels CTC #112

Hello and welcome to another Sunday Night Blog Hop with CASEing the Catty.  We are inspired each week by our awesome Stampin' Up! catalogues - and this week we feature the Cupcakes and Carousels chapter of the Occasions Catalogue - pages 8-13

And I wanted to have a go at this great quick and simple card on the left of page12.  I love the idea of the quick and simple projects illustrated in the catalogue, and this card looks super cool!!

However,.....
I don't own the Super Duper stamp set they've used in the Catalogue,
so.......
I've substituted in Birthday Bright (which coincidentally is featured on page 13)

and I made 4 cards, all the same, and all a little different!!

I've used the same colours illustrated in the catalogue, and also tried to emulate the layout as much as possible too.

As the stamp set Birthday Bright doesn't have the little starry shapes illustrated in the catalogue project, I've add in a couple of images from:  Balloon Celebration, Perpetual Birthday Calendar, and some gold and bermuda bay sequins.

Which is your favourite?
My teenage daughters declared their favourite to be the card with the sequins - they like the way I've coloured the balloons on this one too.
I think my favourite is the card with the bermuda bay 'happy birthday' greeting.

And now it's time for you to hop on over to see the marvellous Monique and her magnificent project.

And, use this awesome link to add your project into our facebook challenge for the week and show us your fabulous project inspired by the Cupcakes and Carousels chapter of the Occasions Catalogue.

Embossing Fun with SUO

Hello and welcome to our challenge for SUO - we are exploring all embossing fun - both heat embossing, and using embossing folders.  The possibilities are fabulous!!

My card features both!!  How cool is that!  I'm feeling rather pleased with my finished result!
I've used heat embossing to create the ripples on the sea and the moon.  I stamped with versamark onto shimmery white paper, and then embossed with clear powder.  I've then used my aqua painter and some Dapper Denim ink to create a wash over the top of the embossed ripples for the sea while leaving the centre only lightly coloured to represent the reflection on the water.

The sky is coloured in Night of Navy over the moon and the birds (which were stamped with black and embossed again in clear powder), and the lightbeam is stamped in So Saffron.  I really love how this has turned out!!

And then in the background, I've used Dappen Denim cardstock which has been through the Big Shot with the Seaside folder.  I mounted this over some Night of Navy cardstock, and then the whole panel was mounted on some Early Espresso.

The lighthouse image is a 2 step stamped image with fantastic realistic results!!  After a couple of attempts, I found it easier to stamp the Watermelon Wonder first, and then the Basic Grey shadow over the top - this shadow piece adds all the extra little details.  I fussy cut the lighthouse and then mounted it onto dimensionals to overlap the watercoloured image.

The greeting is stamped with Basic Grey and cut out using the smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Now, hopefully you've been inspired to bust out your embossing potential, so grab your gear, and join in the fun with our challenge.  You can click on this link to our blog to add in your great project to our challenge!!

Saleabration Time! The best time of year!! CTC#111

Hello and Welcome back to our CASEing the Catty blog hop where we creatively inspire you to look and look again at our Stampin' Up! Catalogues, and then use them as a spring board for ideas and projects.  This week we are showcasing our fantastic new Sale-a-bration catalogue - so many FABULOUS projects and products!!

I've been inspired by the card at the very TOP of page 10 - this page features the very gorgeous Inside the Lines DSP and shows all the fabulous ways to colour these beautiful images.

I've chosen to use my new wonderful watercolour pencils to colour the image, and then drag the colour around with the aqua painter.  I've also added some other totally yummy new sale-a-bration products too.  The background DSP comes from the Carried Away DSP  (which coordinates with the Up and Away Suite from the Occasions Catalogue) and I've also used the lovely new metallic ribbon from Saleabration.
The little bow has been created by stripping the thick Calypso Coral bakers twine into 3 smaller threads and then tying them into a bow.  The greeting comes  from Dragonfly Dreams which coordinates beautifully with the DSP as they both use some lovely dragonfly and bee images.

I sincerely hope you've been inspired again by our Sale A Bration catalogue!!
Now it's time for you to continue our hop through the fabulous projects created by the rest of our amazingly talented design team.

AND, when you join in the fun, use this link here to add your project to our challenge - you don't need a blog, just add your photo to our album for this challenge in the facebook challenge page.  Super easy!

And for the complete list of the design team and their posts, you can use this link here to go back and check on all those awesome projects you've seen along the way on your hop!!

My second card has a few more details and a big more stamping/

I cute out those icecreams with the Frozen Treats framelits and stamped the sprinkles on the top with Chocolate Chip, and also over the card background using all the colours.

Welcome back to CTC for 2017 - Party Animal Chapter

Welcome Welcome Welcome to 2017 and our NEW Catlaogues!!

It's always exciting when we have new Occasions and Saleabration Catalogues and this year the projects, ideas and products are (as always) wonderfully creative and inspiring and just gorgeous!!
I love it all!

This week we are CASEing from the Party Animal Chapter - which features fantastic bright colours, and balloons and really fun greetings!

Image may contain: indoor

Well, I don't have any of the supplies featured in this chapter BUT that is not a problems with CASEing the Catty because we can be inspired by the stamp sets, the colours, ideas and the layout - which is what I have done using this lovely card on the right in the picture.

I do need some help though because for the life of me, I can't work out what has been used for the background on this card.  Do you know?

For my background I've used the (new) Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder and then sponged with Crumb Cake lightly to highlight the shapes and texture.  I've used the oh so gorgeous Builder Birdcage stamp set which has sooooo many possibilities in this 2 (or 3 or 4) step stamp set.  You can choose which base, top, stand or combination of all three!!

I've then used the (new again!) watercolour pencils to colour onto the cages and background, and then used my aqua painter to drag the colour around to create a watercolour wash.  I've also used my aqua painter to splatter colour too (going for the artistic look there!!)

And finally, did you notice that awesome scallop edge to the panel?  What a cool idea, and one I've CASED from the catalogue sample - easily done with the layering scallop squares and using up all those pesky scraps lying around!!  winner winner chicken dinner.

Ok, now enough of my wordy explanations!! Time for you to hop along to our next great project from the design team.  I love our challenge blog - so many fabulous great ideas and projects from some super talented, creative and inspirational crafters!!  What's not to love???

AND, in another NEW format for this year, our challenge will be hosted on our facebook group - you can use this link here.  Now you can join in the fun without needing to have a blog, simply create your project, photograph it and add it to our facebook group!!  Then you can be part of the fabulous fun community of CASEing the CATTY

And if you get lost along the way (or you just NEED to go back and check out that AMAZING project you saw along your hop) just use this link for the list of the whole design team.
