G'Day Fri'yay Cardmaking Challenge!

Hello and Welcome to a new cardmaking challenge!!

This is a fortnightly cardmaking challenge focusing on Australian themes that is open to absolutely everyone!  If you would like an invitation to our private Facebook group celebrating these challenges, please contact me and I will send you an invitation.

Our first theme is KOALA!!  And isn't the inspiration picture a total cutie!!

I have no Koala images in any of my stash, so I had to get creative and challenged myself to make a Punch Art Koala!!  I think he's turned out to be a bit of a cutie too!  I used five punches:

Here's a step by step guide to the creation of my little Koala.  I used the double oval punch for the head, the white belly and also for the white inside the ears.  The ears are the leaf from the Strawberry punch.  I used the Tulip for the body and also the tulip leaf for the arms which I then punched at the end to give rounded 'hands' using part of the Icecream punch.  I also used the Icecream punch for the little legs/feet.

The little black nose is the very tip of the Elegant Tag punch.  I used a blending brush and coordinating Smokey Slate ink to sponge the edges of every punched piece.

The face was drawn using a black marker.

To create the little diorama, I used layering diorama dies and some of the Beauty of the Earth paper for the wood grain effect.

The leaves were stamped using Old Olive and the Forever Fern stamp set - which is also where the greeting comes from for the front of the Diorama.

The beauty of this card is that is folds flat to fit into your envelope!

I hope you've been inspired!!  The measurements for the diorama card are 10 1/2 cm x the full length of cardstock and then scored along the long side at:  11cm, 14cm, 25cm, 28cm.
