Layering Leaves Punch Project CTC#429

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.

This week, we are CASEING a punch project from the catalogue - it's amazing when a challenge them comes along and I start looking in the catalogue, I mean REALLY looking that I suddenly see all these fantastic projects and the techniques used in them!!!

My card is inspired by this lovely card on page 23 of the catalogue that features the cloud punch and also a watercolour technique creating a wash in the background.  Well, I didn't do the wash background......

Instead I've used the Rays of Light stamp set inking up each half using Crushed Curry and Pretty Peacock inks.  I then spritzed the stamp using Stampin' Mist to create a watery wash look for the inks and stamped it onto white cardstock.

I then used the large circle die from All That Dies, sponged the edges using crushed curry and added it to the centre of the rays.  I also sponged the edges of the golden rays to give a bit more colour to the sky.  The flying birds stamped in Pretty Peacock look great!!  The greeting comes from Lazy Days.

Inside the card I've stamped some clouds using Pool Party ink from On the Ocean along with the birds and a strip of rays cut off from the front panel

To create the fun textured edge of the ribbon, I cut it in half length ways and then removed fibres to create the lovely fringing - this is totally inspired by the lovely detail in the original card from the catalogue.

Make sure you keep hopping to see more fabulous punch projects showcased!!
