Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.
Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop. To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)
This week, we are CASEING the bundles chapter of the mini catalogue, and my inspiration comes from this card on the left on page 51 of the mini catalogue.
My first step was the square very vanilla card base. I had to make a very special Anniversary card so, my next step was to search my stamp sets for one that said Happy Anniversary. So Layers of Beauty to the rescue!
I closely followed all the layering of the original card in the catalgoue, but kept the lines standard rather than skewed (respecting the recipient who would prefer straight lines!!).
My first layer is VELLUM - coming in our Online Exclusives in November - woohoo! I've embossed it using the Damask Designs embossing folder. My second layer is ANOTHER Sneak Peek - gorgeous doilies that are Bubble Bath and Real Red and come in 2 sizes!! I wanted the white side so flipped over the doily which made a wonderful landing pad for my flowers!!
The flowers were stamped using Crumb Cake and then coloured using Stampin' Blends in Petal Pink, Peach Pie, Daffodil Delight and Soft Sea Foam. And then I added some Wink of Stella to make them sparkle. (The flowers on the coordinating envelope were done using the Layers of Beauty Masks and the same inks with blending brushes)
I fussy cut the title (as per my CASE project in the catalogue) and added the number for the wedding anniversary using the Month by Month stamp set that came with the Scrapbooking Retreat Kit - so useful!!
Inside I have repeated the embossed velllum, gorgeous mesh ribbon and a couple of coloured flowers.
Up next is the extraordinary Peta and her snowflake card!
