How can I choose my favourite colours? CT#170

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

This week, we get to chooooooooose 3 favourites!!

Now FULL disclosure - I can NOT think of my 3 favourite Stampin' Up! colours!!  BUT, you all know that I love GREENS and the neutrals - soooo here's my choice!
Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist and Pecan Pie.

I wanted to scrap this gorgeous photo or our amazing children!!  I've used the NEW Golden Greenery Bundle for all the leaves combined with the Everyday Greetings stamp set for the word stamping around the edges.

I stamped all the leaves, and then stamped words randomly around them, and then splattered Old Olive and Pecan Pie inks over the page.

I also used a blending brush and Pecan Pie over all the stamping.

All the fussy cut words around the photos comes from a bunch of stamp sets:
Everyday Greetings, Unbounded Love, Happy Little Things, Happiest Day and also the journalling.

My final touch was some Shiny Sequins in the Lemon Lime Twist.

Sooooo, which colours would be YOUR favourites?    I'd love to know!!

Mediterian Blooms inspiration CTC#479

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING from the Mediterranean Blooms Suite - and I have been inspired by the colours of the suite to create some cute gift boxes (which I gave to friends last week!!)

I've used Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight (I couldn't work out how to add ALL of the colours of this gorgeous suite!!)  The gift boxes are retired from last year, but you could do the same treatment I have with any gift box.  I wrapped some of the Take to the Sky DSP around the box to make a simple matchbox sleeve.  I measured the length of the box and cut my paper to that size, then wrapped and overlapped the paper.

I then stamped and added some fun glimmer details.  I hope you like it!!

Up next is the extraordinary Courtenay

Make sure you keep hopping for MORE inspiration.

Combo Layout for Scrapbooking - check it out!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today is Scrapbooking Global day!! Each month we share some great inspiration for you1!

This month our fabulous Guest Designer Kate has an awesome theme for us!!

Our theme gave me the great opportunity to scrap a bunch of photos from a fabulous day!!

I created a double spread layout using the same colours and event so there's lots of photos of my project to share with you!!

My pocket page is from retired Stampin' Up! products from a couple of years ago - but boy these make finishing a bunch of photos really quick!

I was able to print my photos together into portrait orientation for the particular layout of this page which made putting lots of photos on the page super easy.

I then die cut a heap of images using the Thoughtful Wishes dies and the Thoughtful Journey paper and then made bunches and words around the page.  These words were mostly from the Saying Something Ephemera packs.

I also incorporated some of the Thoughtful Journey Memories and More cards.  Some of the die cuts were adhered on the outside of the pockets too.

I used a lot of white background for my pocket page to coordinate it with the traditional scrap page which had a base of white.

This page is totally inspired by the amazing Kayla Renee here

I loved the torn edges and the frame work for the images in the middle.

Again I've created clusters using the dies and words from the ephemera packs.

My colours were inspired by the amazing blue sky in my photos - I've used Azure Afternoon and Crumb Cake as well as the Basic White and Thoughtful Journey paper.

My title comes from the Ephemera Pack.  The word 'celebrate' actually was Crushed Curry, which I thought didn't work, so I coloured it with my Azure Afternoon Stampin' Blend (trying to create blue, BUT, it turned green!!!  Which I guess is ok......)

I really hope YOU are inspired to try this!!  This was a first for me, and I really enjoyed it!!
Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AMAZING projects!!
