Unbounded Beauty sneak peek for a colour challenge #163

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm sharing a sneak peek project for our Colour INKspiration challenge!!

These are ALL very bright colours and very much out of my comfort zone!!  BUT, I've used them with a wonderful new suite for a sneak peek which made creating this project so enjoyable!

I've used the lovely Flowers of Beauty bundle for all the imagery, and the Unbounded Love bundle for the greeting.

There is only a little Crushed Curry blended onto the card front and then a bunch of die cut imagery for the floral cluster.

I like the little interlocked frames from the Unbounded Love dies for a bit of a fun addition to the flowers.

Inside the card was the perfect place for me to put the left over die cut pieces!!

CTC#464 Retiring bundle favourite - Notes of Nature

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm hopping with my friends from CASEING the CATTY.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything, or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.

Our current catalogues retire at the end of this month, so for the next few weeks, we will be sharing some of our favourite retiring projects.  I have just love the Notes of Nature bundle, so that is the focus for my project this week.

I've case the lovely project on pages 42 and 43 of the mini catalogue.  I really love this card, and can't help thinking that I may have CASED this one before!!

I've added some of the faux leather trim and changed up the DSP to the Poetic Expressions paper.

I've used the lovely silver and gold glimmer paper for the leaves.

Inside the card has some simple stamping along with the Poetic Expressions DSP.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing projects to inspire you.

And check our Facebook page for more great inspriation here.

Let's Craft Together and share Watercolouring

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

I'm part of a fantastic group of like minded crafters sharing inspiration in our monthly blog hop!

This Month, we are sharing and featuring Watercolouring!

Watercolouring is one of my favourite techniques - I can feel a bit artistic and not really need any skill!!  The stamped images help do all the work for me!  (And I do love the 'artistic look' of slightly messy watercolouring - no precision required!!)

I'm featuring a NEW bundle/suite coming in our New Catalogue starting in May (perks of being a demonstrator is that I can get these things early!) called Country Woods.  The background paper is the Country Woods DSP (and it has a look of watercolouring!!) and the stamp set is the Country Flowers stamp set.

I've used watercolour paper and Saddle Brown stazon ink to stamp my images.  I then added ink using a water painter.

To add the ink, I smooshed my ink pad onto a stamping block, and then used my water painter to pick up the colour, water it down for changes in tone and shade, and then painted the image from the left to the right leaving some bits on the right side unpainted for light reflection.

Inside the card is some more painted leaves and flowers just for fun!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see LOTS of amazing projects!!  I'm sure you'll love them all.

Painted Lavender CASE CTC#463

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Tonight I'm hopping with the fabulous CASEING the CATTY crew.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE our fabulous Catalogues - CATTY.

This week we are CASEING the bundles chapter in the mini catalogue.

My card is inspired by the gorgeous card featuring Painted Lavender bundle on page 71.

My card is very similar to the one in the catalogue - I've changed up the card base using the Sweet Thoughts cards and envelopes. This was the starting point for my ink choices of Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Lemon Lolly.

Do you see the cute little extra I've added for texture on the sides?  I just scored twice on each side of my panel - such an easy idea but I love the look!!

Inisde the card continues the same stamping with a bit of blending for extra depth.

Make sure your keep hopping to see lots of great ideas.
