Country Woods Masculine Birthday With the Lets Craft Together Blog Hop!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm hopping with an awesome bunch of talented Australian crafters who love sharing with you!!

and THIS month, we are sharing inspiration for you for those Masculine Birthday celebrations!!

My card is a favourite technique for using papers - the Rip and Flip technique and I love using this one for cards for the men!!

You can see both sides of the same paper by ripping it at one end, flip it over and adhering both pieces - and you can choose whether to show off the torn edges.  This time I've not shown the white torn edge.

I've done the same thing on the trim for the inside of the card.  I just loooooove these leaves from the Textured Notes stamp set - and I love how they look when they are stamped on both the designer paper as well as ordinary cardstock.  The greeting for Happy Birthday comes from the Charming Day stamp set.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing inspiration just for you!

Changing up a femimine layout to masculine CTC#531

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING a bundle in the bundles chapter of our Annual Catalogue

And the starting point for my card was this layout featuring the fantastic Extraordinary Washi Tape on page 84.

I've used the lovely framework in the layout, the greeting overlapping the edge and the floral details at the top and bottom diagonally.

My card ALSO features a fun fold which showcases a brilliant way to make the most of your gorgeous paper!

The final card ends up with 3 panels so you can add extra greetings inside your card along with the writing panel.

The stamping comes from the amazing leaves in the Textured Notes stamp set which is absolutely gorgeous!

I've used the fabulous Misty Moonlight two toned paper which gives me more colour options with the light and dark sides of the paper.

Christmas Joy with boho inspiration CTC#530

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING the Boho Vibes Suite.

I thought I'd give this fun technique a try where you cut out the die cut to see the patterened paper underneath.  I don't think min is as cool as the rainbow, but it's a fun idea!  I've used the Everyday Happiness designer paper inside the die cut window.

I've used the new Jolly Holly bundle from our ONline Exclusive collection.  I embossed the fabulous two tone Pretty Peacock cardstock with the Jolly Holly embossing folder, and then sanded the top lightly with sand paper.  I then dabbed on colour for the berries using a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend.  The colour soaked into the white sanded berries sooo beautifully!!

The extra Holly leaves was stamped and coloured from the coordinating Jolly Holly stamp set.  And the Cherry Cobbler berries embellishments work perfectly!!  This is my first Christmas Card for this year!!  I created it for our Christmas in July Team Lunch and it's actually a little Note Card.

I couldn't waste the lovely die cut 'joy' word, so I've used that on the inside of the card.

Just a Note Masculine Card

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

Oh MY WORD - these colours are soooo bright!!  What to do?  What to do?

After MUCH deliberation I finally decided to play with my NEW bundle Just a Note and created a card for our Masculine Card class coming up in August.

The Bubble Bath colour is VERY subtle - I used it for the stamping on the lines and used the Blueberry Bushel and my Azure  Afternoon  as the hero colours.  I've used the Timid Tiger and the Gorgeous Grape for the little details of the arrow and paperclip!!

The inside of the card repeats the imagery of the front - in the end I'm loving this card!  I think it's really cool!!
