Casing the Catty - Happy Birthday

This week, we are looking at the birthday section of our new Occasions Catalogue - pages 10 - 17, and I have cased the card from the top left of page 10

I've used the same colours, but a different stamp set - Big Day from Sale-a-bration.

Just Add Ink - pink hearts

This week at Just Add Ink challenge No#250 is an inspiration photo
JAI #250
and this is my creative response to the Inspiration.

I've used Best Day Ever stamp set and the Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP
Now I look at the Inspiration photo again, I'm not sure how I came up with my card!!  teee hee!

More gift giving

Here's a little gift for a friend that contains some handmade cards.
I've used cherry cobbler, hello honey, and basic black - and what a dramatic result!

Mini Gift Card Box

I CASED this beautiful project from the talented Marelle Taylor who found this awesome project using the Gift Box Punch Board.  The instructions for this project can be found here at the blog of Jackie Bolhuis who came up with this lovely idea.

I have used Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral for my colours and CASED Marelle's idea of using Painted Petals for my gift cards - such a lovely and simple stamp set.

Woo Hoo, a win at Caseing the Catty!

Baby's gifts

After making the lovely cards yesterday, today is the day for preparing the gifts.  I have made this gift box to coordinate with the card.  I stamped around the edges of the lid with the flowers from Bloom with Hope stamp set in blushing bride ink, and then made the bow using our new bow builder punch.

I love the end result and I hope the recipients do too!

Babys are so inspirational. I am off to a Baptism this weekend, so a card is needed.

I have used retired products, but I love the cards.

What do you think?

Casing the Catty challenge - Occasions Catalogue

The challenge this week at Caseing the Catty is all about CASE-ing from the Valentine's section of the Occasions Catalogue.

and this is my entry - I have cased the card at the top of the Catalogue on page 4

and I changed my colours to coordinate with the Hello Life project kit on the following page.  I have used vellum instead of the window sheet - which made the background very soft and subtle, and I filled the pocket with stars in Hello Honey, Basic Black, and silver foil.

Painted Petals simplicity

This stamp set is so gorgeous and elegant, that it is very easily used to create quick and simple cards! The stamped images has a wonderful watercolour look which gives so much depth and interest - along with the two step stamping for the stems and flower heads.

I love this stamp set - and I'm sure you would love using it too!!

Book your party now to create some beautiful cards, AND have a wonderful time with your friends!!

Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink there is this cool sketch challenge, and the design team have come up with some fantastic ideas and inspiration.

This is my little entry, which is quite simple, but very starry!

And then I made another one in  a different colour - what do you think?

I used the Perpetual Calender stamp set for the background (stamped in the same configuration as the sketch challenge), and the greeting comes from Big Day.  I have used the mosaic punch for each end of the greeting to add a bit more interest to a fairly simple card.

Shaped Cards for SUO challenge

So I pulled out my labels framelits and created this label easel card.

The front of it is stamped with Painted Petals from our new Occasions Catalogue in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.

Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

and I have repeated the flowers to pop at the base of the inside card, so that the front can stand up like an easel.

The little embellishments on the front include burlap, crochet trim and thick bakers twine.

So, give yourself a challenge and try to create a shaped card this week, take a photo and enter it into our challenge at http://suochallenges.com/ this week!!

Peacock

This was a card I recently made when I spent time with my stamping friend Heather.  I have heat embossed the stamp with white embossing powder, and then, coloured the embossed image with my Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and voila, I have a coloured embossed beautiful peacock!!!  The stamped greeting is stamped with our new aquamarine chalks ink - which blends so well with the Bemuda Bay cardstock and sequin trim.

Bokeh technique

I've been keen to try the Bokeh technique, and at our recent training day, we had the privilege of seeing Alison Barclay do a demonstration for us.  This is my try at home - trying to remember what she did!!!

Butterfly Basics

You many know that I love collage stamping - here I've used an oval mask in the centre of my card (saw this done at our training day by Anna Wheaten).  My stamp set is Butterfly Basics and my colours are Lost Lagoon, Crisp Canteloupe, and Crushed Curry (which are the colours featured in the Sweet Dreams washi tape)

Fun with Blendabilities

At our recent training day, we saw Rebecca Ross demonstrate some great techniques with the Blendabilities - and this is one of them.  Using the window sheet, scribble some of the Blendability all over the sheet in all the colours of the pack, and then spray with some Isocol (alcohol spray) and watch the colours merge and blend.  Turn over and stamp a greeting on the front with stazon ink.

I've tired this with the Cherry Cobbler, Rich Razzleberry, and Coastal Cabana/ Old Olive markers.

Choose Happiness

These are project we made at our recent Stampin' Up! training day in Brisbane recently - and they are all created with this gorgeous stamp set Choose Happiness.  We have also used the Blendabilities for the colouring in a couple of projects too.

I love this card, and the flower looks so beautiful coloured this way.  My natural tendency is to do watercolouring (which I love by the way), but this flower looks great coloured with the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities.

Here is the whole collection of our Make and Take Projects.....

and here is a copy of the card I made at home after the training day - such a beautiful stamp set!!!
