Piece of Cake for our first colour INKspiration challenge this year #49

Hello And Welcome to Colour INKspiration 2019!!  We have some stunning new banners to kick start the year created by one of our amazing team members - Rose.  Don't they look FANTASTIC!!!

We have an amazing design team all challenging you to join in the fun and create using the prescribed colours for each challenge!!

Our colours this time are:  Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch, and  Highland Heather.  All of these (except Coastal Cabana which is a personal favourite), are TOTALLY out of my comfort zone, BUT, the projects contributed by the whole team are INCREDIBLE!!  So much to love and so so so pretty.  You'll just love this whole hop!!  Actually these colours are amazing match for our new banners too!!! 

I've used the fun Piece of Cake stamp set for my card - and as you might guess - it features more Coastal Cabana than any other colour!!

The other bright colours really do look super sweet on all the cakes though!!

See all those greetings in the background of this card?  I tried a new technique using the Stamparatus to create a bunch of background words stamping.  

 

I loaded up all the greetings onto the Stamparatus plate, stamped it once and then moved the hinge of the Stamparatus down to stamp it again on the bottom half of the cardstock.  

 

This strategy certainly speeded up the process of stamping all those greetings!! 

 They are all part of this amazing stamp set, and they are so much fun too!!

Something so Sweet for CTC#215

Hello and Welcome to another awesome amazing Sunday Night Blog Hop Caseing the Catty Challenge.



CASEing is all about Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit - using the Stampin' Up! catalogues which are packed full of amazingness.  The brilliance of our challenge is that every week, there are amazing projects from the design team inspired by the catalogue showing off lots of amazing ideas and techniques that I had never noticed!!!

This week we are sharing inspiration from the How Sweet it is chapter - pages 14-23.

Those pages include this totally wonderful Project kit - Incredible Like You which has GORGEOUS laser cut overlays over stunning water coloured backgrounds. I've used the top right card and the gradual wash from dark to light in the background as my starting point.

My card journey then took me a looong way from the original!!!  I've used Blueberry Bushel and Coastal Cabana for my watercolour wash and tried to copy the idea on the Project card with the brush strokes.  I then stamped the bubbles over the top of the wash to help hide the not-so-good bits of the watercolour wash!!!  I love these images in this stamp set Best Catch and the coordinating Catch of the Day framelits really made this card a breeze to put together.  

This is a centre easel card inspired by the amazing  Bronwyn Eastley who creates some impressive cards featuring fabulous folds.  

I've coloured my feature fish (I think its a trout?) using Stampin' Blends and also stamped the same fish using Coastal Cabana on vellum for the base of the card.  

My feature panel uses Shimmery White cardstock which is more forgiving when you're using watercolour techniques.  I hope you've been inspired to have a go with the great water colour wash technique!

Featuring Flowers at SUO this time #216

Hello and Welcome to our fabulous fun challenge featuring Flowers at SUO Challenges where we use Stampin' Up! Only products in some really fun challenges. 



Make sure you head over to our blog to see the wonderful projects from the whole design team!!

My easel card features a lovely new stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue - Vibrant Vases.

  It coordinates with our super fun punch from the Annual Catalogue - Vases Builder Punch.

I've stamped the outlines using Crumb Cake and then added the fill in detail with the stamp set images and ink, (Mango Melody and Blushing Bride for the flowers, Sahara Sand for the vases) and then added extra detail colour with Stampin' Blends - Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Ivory.    I fussy cut around the tops of the flowers to make an interesting edge at the top of the easel card.
You can also see the greeting has been stamped in the Crumb Cake and cut with a brilliant Rectangles framelits.
