Scrapbook Sunday with Crafty Collaborations - a new venture!

Today I'm sharing a Scrapbook page with the Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop - hopefully this will be a monthly event!  

There is no theme for the scrapbook page, so I was able to play with my photos and new goodies. 

I've used the new Nature's Sweetness Suite for my page about our recent camping trip to Lamington National Park on the Gold Coast hinterland.  The background of my page uses 3 different sheets of the Nature's Sweetness specialty designer paper - there are lovely highlights of gold and neutral colours which works well for my nature pictures.  

The botanical stamped images from Lovely & Sweet  and also the Natures Notes stamp sets are perfect and I've coloured them using watercolour pencils and a water painter.

I love the dotty die cut edge - it makes great note paper inspired elements and combined with the gold foil die cute leaves looks really lovely!! Can you see the cute cork rounds?  They add a lovely natural touch too.

On the top left of my page tied through some more of the die cut note edge dots is come of the gold faux leather trim.

The colours I've used for my page are:  Early Espresso page base, Pecan Pie, Copper Clay, Gold Foil and some Crumb Cake ink for sponging the edges.  

It's a really busy scrap book page, but I hope you like it!!

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Selectively Edit or to Copy And Share Everything and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.  

This week, we are CASEING out amazing Sale-a-bration catalogue which is full of LOTS of great FREE products!! 

I've been inspired by the lovely Softly Sophisticated bundle on page 14.  My CASE is actually very close to the original.  I've only changes the colours really.

Instead of using a die for the main element, I've opted for the lovely Elegant Tag punch.

And I've changed the colours to Fresh Freesia for the flowers combined with Bubble Bath for the ribbon and embellishments.

Inside the card is a similar floral detail and some embossing and ribbon.

Have you seen this fun fold before?

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today, I had the fun of being part of the Global Share Fair group sharing videos of great projects from our current catalogues.  The group includes cardmakers from Australia, Canada and the United States.

This is my project for the event featuring the fabulous Notes of Nature bundle. This is a perfect bundle to use for shabby collage style stamping because the set is full of biological imagery and words.

I've also paired it with Parakeet Party and so great Designer Paper - Nature's Sweetness.  I love the gold flecks that are in this paper!!  All I did was stamp a couple of leaves and add some colour using a blending brush.  

The greeting for the front works beautifully using the Cheerful Daisies dies combined with some lovely Parakeet Party metallic ribbon and those gorgeous Gold Foil die cuts!!  Love them.  

See how the card folds out for the lovely surprise inside?  I don't know what the fold is called but I really loved it when my friend Ann gave me a Christmas card featuring this fold!  Thankyou!!

How do you do masking?

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today, my card is all about masking and leaving a lovely white background image - with the use of the amazing Stampin' Up! masking paper.

I've also used a Sale-a-bration stamp set for this technique - Detailed Dogwood - which is a FREE level 2 item in our offerings from now until the end of February!  It's full of amazing shabby chic images which are fun for stamping collage!  

The greeting is from the Notes of Nature stamp set which is also a great new stamp set!!  

Inside the card continues the fun stamping!
