Scrapbooking using scraps!!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today, I'm joining in with the amazing Scrapbooking Global group inspiring you every month with scrapbooking genius from an awesome group of scrapbookers!

This month, the theme is about using your scraps.  Please welcome our Guest Designer Elaine Wheeler Wright whos shares her theme for our hop - one I sure we can all relate to - Use your Scraps.  What a great theme!!  I cannot wait to see what everyone creates.

As I knew we had this theme coming up, I've been saving some of my scraps from a recent class - all these pieces are off cuts from the Country Woods paper and as they are all from the same collections, it actually made it very easy to Use my Scraps!!

They created an awesome background for my page!!  And the colours worked so nicely together too!

I've also used some of the gorgeous Flowering Ephemera and Something to Say Ephemera for the elements on my page.

And this little birdhouse was a half made scrap sitting on my crafting desk too - so even though he has nothing to do with the page or photos, on he went!!  I DO love this birdhouse set sooo much!  I love the dies and the stamps used with the glorious Country Woods paper.

My final touches to the page is some of the splatter stamp from the Country Birdhouse set to continue the Crushed Curry colour theme.

Last of all are some glossy dots.....because I like them!!  Here is a video showing a preview of the thought process for this page (without the scrap elements!!)

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots more amazing projects using those SCRAPS!!

Please head over to my online store if you wish to see these products in more detail - and you can place your order anytime (if you're in Australia) while you're there (even if you're in your pyjamas!!)
And, if you can see yourself creating cards and sharing your love of papercrafts while inspiring others, perhaps you might be interested in joining my Stampin' Up! family - contact me to find out how.

  4. I love your idea of using scraps of DSP to make a brick wall effect for the background of your layout. I've used other shapes including diamonds but never rectangles.
