Feathery Friends for Colour INKspiration #12

Hello and Welcome to our Colour INKspiration blog hop challenge #12.

No automatic alt text available.

Check out the colours for this week!!!
They are:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, Smoky Slate and Peekaboo Peach.
They hail from the Regals and the 2016-2018 InColours Collections, and they are GLORIOUS!
We are being challenged to use at least 4 of these colours.

So, I decided to see if I could use all 8 colours!  And I figured the best way would be to do some colouring in.

I grabbed all the markers in these colours, and laid them on my desk ready!!

My stamp set of choice was Feathery Friends which has some super sweet images that are just perfect for colouring.  They are so sweet, I decided to make a little collection of three cards using as many images as I could!!  I stamped onto our Shimmery White cardstock using Basic Gray ink.  The only other extra item were some glitter enamel dots.  The mat anchoring my image is Night of Navy or Dapper Denim.

I think I'm very clever using all the colours!! teehee

And please, join in the fun by adding your project onto our facebook challenge page!!

Layering Love for Babies & Kids? CTC#134

Hello and Welcome along to our Sunday Night Blog Hop!!  We love to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from our awesome Stampin' Up! catalogues.... and we love to inspire you to do the same!

No automatic alt text available.

This week, we are CASEing the Babies & Kids chapter of the Catalogue - pages 102 - 111.

And I've been inspired by the sweet card right at the very top of the full page spread celebrating the oh so beautiful Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper is just glorious - it has a Soft Sky or Blushing Bride pattern on one side, and gold foil on the other - so so so beautiful!!
Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper

And really perfect for so many occasions - for bubs of course, but also for celebrations of any kind!!

I've used the gold foil side (as per the card I'm CASEing), but I've changed my central panel to Very Vanilla (instead of a colour) and embossed it with the Garden Trellis embossing folder.

My gold embossed greeting comes from Layering Love which has some great greeting suitable for LOTS of events.  I really love these greetings for scrapbooking too.

And the remainder of the card is quite similar - with the ribbon detail behind my Stitched Shapes framelit which I used for the greeting.

My finishing touch was some Glitter enamel Dots in the Dapper Denim for a bit of fun colour.
I think I'm giving this card to my Uncle and Aunt for their 50th wedding anniversary.
What do you think?  Will it work?

Now it's time for you to continue hopping along to see the next awesome inspiration for you from the Babies and Kids chapter.

And please, join in the fun and add your project to our facebook challenge page!!  It's so much fun to see all the wonderful projects and ideas shared each week as we inspire each other!!

Until next week,
Happy Stamping,

Green and Gold Patriotic Colours

Hello and Welcome to our Challenge for SUO - Stampin' Up! Only Challenges!!

I'm on the team at SUO!

This time we are being challenged to use some Patriotic Colours!!

Well, I have to say this was a bit of a challenge for me - I'm not really into sports very much (definitely a crafty gal!!) and I know there's a hotly contested footy competition between states due this week, but my care factor is very small.
However, I do know that Australia is definitely a country of Green and Gold - very similar to our beautiful floral emblem of the Golden Wattle.

My card is inspired, therefore, by our gorgeous fauna - and I've used some wonderful greens and gold.  Green - Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide & Gold - Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.

I've also added some EXTRA gold with the Metallic Enamel Dots and some Gold Metallic Thread.

Stamp Sets - Lovely Friends and coordinating Lovely Laurel framelits (for the flowers and leaves)
and Wood Words for the greeting which has been framed with an oval Stitched Shapes framelit.
I've also used the glorious ombre Lemon Lime Twist ribbon tied over the embossing paste in the background.

Now, I hope you've been totally inspired and that you join in the fun with our challenge to use Patriotic Colours!!!  Simply add your project to the gallery on our blog page - and you can use the link above to get there!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

I've used the Happy Birthday thinlits instead of the "lovely" for my greeting.

Colour INKspiration #11 Vintage colours

Hello and Welcome to our Colour INKspiration blog hop!

Image may contain: coffee cup and drink

This week we are using some gorgeous colours that to me say vintage!!
They are:  Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Soft Suede.

So, I was super keen to explore some 'new' goodies from our NEW Annual Catalogue, and I've incorporated them into my card.  They are:  Embossing Paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks; Very Vanilla thick bakers twine; Glitter Enamel Dots; and this lovely new stamp set - Floral Sentiments.

I coloured the embossing paste with a drop of Soft Suede reinker, and used the lovely lattice mask for my background.  The stamped image is stamped with Early Espresso, and I watercoloured the flowers using Marina Mist.  Because the ink is water based, I have some lovely bleeding from the Espresso ink into my Marina Mist flowers which I think is just gorgeous!!  I've finished off the flowers with a coordinating glitter enamel dot.  These dots are ombre shades so there are so many possibilities for colours - how great is that!!

Now it's time for you to hop along to the fabulous Bronwyn to see her gorgeous project!!

And to add your fabulousness to our challenge, head to our facebook page and join in the fun!!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous for CASEING the CATTY #132

Hello and Welcome to another CASEING the CATTY Sunday blog hop!!

No automatic alt text available.

Each Sunday evening we love to inspire you as we share our interpretations of the projects featured in our Stampin' Up! Catalogues - Copy And Selectively Editing - and showing you how easy it is to use the catalogue as a go-to-resource for your creative inspiration.

This week, we are CASEing the Birthday Chapter - pages 68 - 85.

And I've been inspired by this box right in the middle of page 76 - a page dedicated to the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Suite

As you know, I love cardmaking.... AND I love to give cards as gifts so that others can enjoy giving handmade cards too - SO, I'm always looking for some lovely packaging ideas for a bunch of cards and envelopes to be given as a gift.

So, the Foil Frenzy Designer Series Paper IS JUST PERFECT for this purpose - it's super fun, super shiney, and a heavier weight that's perfect for creating boxes. It has 3 foil designs in 4 different colours - Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, and Tangerine Tango printed onto the heavyweight kraft cardstock

I've made my box so that it has easy access to search for cards, hence no lid, and it's slimline to fit on your shelf easily.

The tag hanging from the gorgeous Pool Party Shimmer ribbon was created using the Starburst punch and the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set which has some lovely greetings, and sweet floral  and leafy images.   The box is wrapped with a vellum belly band. tied with the ribbon, and the tag tied to the bow using bakers twine.

The back story to my wonderful completed project is 4 failed attempts at my box!!!

This box above was an earlier attempt - I forgot to make sure the box fitted the envelopes......  the cards were just perfect!!

So, then I adjusted my measurements to allow for envelopes, and then it was too long and looked untidy and not closely fitting around the cards and envelopes (sigh).

My very first box (which did NOT make the photograph opportunity before it was binned) was a terrible mess!! It was a different design, and I really wanted to created a box using only 1 sheet of the 12" x 12" paper.

Ultimately the measurements are:
2 pieces of Cardstock  at 6" x 101/2" and scored at 2" on 3 sides.  The two pieces are joined to make one long piece measuring 6" x 19" which is joined together to form the box, and then the base pieces are joined for the bottom of the box.

Now it's time for you to continue hopping around our Birthday Chapter with Judy.

And, please join in the fun with our facebook page challenge!!  Create your project inspired by the Birthday chapter of our Stampin' Up! Catalogue and add your project to our page!!
We love to see your creations!!

Happy Stamping
Love Julia.
