How about a cute tool box card? CTC#457

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn!

It's Sunday night and time for our amazing Caseing the CATTY blog hop!!

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.  Today we are CASEING a project featuring dies.

My project is featured in the image above!!  I've had a go making the tiny toolbox!!

I was NOT adventurous with my colours though - it's all Smoky Slate and Pebbled Path!!

And I've used holographic foild for the tools.

The woodwork ont he side of the box is drawn using a ruler and marker and than I added a bit more colouring using Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing projects.

Love for Pets - Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Today, I'm hopping with a bunch of amazing Scrapbooking experts!!  And our theme this month is all about Pets!!

Initially I was rather stymied by the theme as we don't have any pets (except our chooks, and I didn't really want to scrap about them!!!).  Soooo, my page is about the pets belonging to a couple of our children.

Two of our girls have little balls of fur which they love very much (we do too when we visit them!!)

Because the girls sent me photos with very neutral colours, I've continued that theme with my page and used Basic Black and Crumb Cake with hints of white and copper.

The background stamping comes from Notes of Nature and an interesting set called Of Art and Texture.  I've stamped in Crumb Cake, Versamark for very subtle stamping, Memento Black and also the Craft White.  I coloured some of the Notes of Nature images using a white watercolour pencil.

I also used a ruler and Black Stampin' Write marker and drew some lines randomly on the page.

The rest of the embellishments come from the Sweet Thoughts Memories and More cards sticker sheets as well as some punched elements using Zoo Crew paper and the Petal Park builder punch.

The final touch is some Pebbled Path dots scattered around the page just like all the stamping!

I used the Mini Alphabet dies for the cats names too!!

Make sure you keep hopping for lots more Pet Inspiration for you!

Introducing the Simply Zinnias dies

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in our fabulous Colour INKspiration challenge.

This challenge is about some amazing images and the Stampin' Up! colours they inspire!!

I've used the colours this time as my starting point to play with my new Simply Zinnias dies and create a bunch of flowers.

I've used some poetic licence to give the flowers a holographic foil centre so that it works with the colour challenge!!

The Sweet Moments cards and envelopes worked perfectly for this colour challenge!!

Inside the card is some simple stamping using the gorgeous Berry Burst.

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations of the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page. Then you have 12 days from today to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. You can also use neutrals such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Basic Black as well as Metallics.

Monthly Scrapbooking inspiration for you

Hello and Welcoome to Handmade by Julia Quinn!!

I love scrapbooking our memories and creating ART from our everyday events!!  AND this scrapbooking hop is just PERFECT for motivating me to complete another page!!!  I ALSO have used the parameters of a fun Challenge for this page too.  The criteria was:
2 photos
3 brights colours
NO designer paper.

Sooooo, my colours are Azure Afternoon, Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist (you will note there are not any pinks or purples from the brights collection for me!! lol)  However, these photos are just perfect for the gorgeous blues and green I've chosen!!!

I sponged a random swathe of Azure Afternooon using a blending brush from one side of the page to the other as a bit of background for my photos (which are also mounted on Azure Afternoon cardstock)

The splodges look like I've flicked colour - but that's way too terrifying for me!!! So I cheated and used a splodge stamp from Quiet Meadow - winning!!!  So easy and it looks so cool!!

The Lemon Lime Twist cardstock was die cut from the Earthen Textures Dies and the Notes of Nature dies.  The label/title was stamped using the Love this Moment stamp set onto a die cut from the Something Fancy dies.

And the final touch is some Azure Afternoon little embellishments from the Rainbow collection!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots more inspiration for your scrapbooking!!
