CTC#358 Embossed Inspiration

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything, and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (CATTY).

This week, we are CASEING an embossed project from any catalogue!!  Embossing can mean 3 different techniques - you can emboss with a folder using your die cutting machine, you can heat emboss with embossing powder and a heat tool, or you can use embossing paste in many different ways!!

My project is a simple tag/bookmark which I've used for the name tags on the kits for my Retreat Day this weekend - so I made 24 of these!!

I've cased the lovely embossed card on page 8 of the mini catalogue.  I used the super sweet Gingham Embossing folder, inked the folder using my balmy blue ink and then ran my cardstock through my die cutting machine to create a lovely tone on tone effect which shows up the gingham pattern beautifully.

I've then used a bunch of the gorgeous Pierced Blooms dies with Bumblebee, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party cardstock.  The greeting was stamped using the lovely Blessings of Home stamp set and Balmy Blue ink on Shimmery White cardstock.  This lovely die for the greeting also comes from the great Pierced Blooms dies.

The tag itself was punched using one of our great tag punches  - the Delightful Tag Topper punch.  My finishing touch is the sublime sheer Pool Party ribbon - swoon - this is just gorgeous ribbon!!

Up next is the super awesome Sandra and her great project.

You are invited to join in the fun with us too and add your project to the line up on our Facebook challenge page here.

Colour Inkspiration Butterflies

Hello and Welcome to our Colour Challenge!!

Colour INKspiration challenges run twice per month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings - and the inspiration photos and colours are ALWAYS amazing!!

What do these colours say to you????  I would say this is a very challenging colour palatte for me as I'm not in love with purples......but I'm happy to report that I really do love the card I created using this amazing colour inspiration!!

The colours are so feminine and soft, that it worked perfectly with my butterfly card.  I sponged the large butterflies using the new Butterflies & Flowers decorative masksHighland Heather is the first layer, and then the detail mask was blended with the Blackberry Bliss.  I used another mask in the set for the Mint Macaron leaves.

Over the lovely sponging with the blending brushes, I then stamped more butterflies from the Sale-a-bration set Catching Butterflies using Blackberry Bliss ink and then coloured with Highland Heather Stampin' Blends.  The inside of the card features the same stamping and the Mint Macaron leaves.  My finishing touches is the lovely Vellum piece for the greeting layered onto Smoky Slate cardstock and some of the stunning mesh ribbon.

I sincerely recommend checking out this challenge on Facebook and you can join in too!!

A sketch for the challenge this week!! CTC#357

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selective Edit, and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (Catty).

This week we are CASEING a Sketch in our Sale-a-bration Catty.

And my project has flipped the layout sketch on it's side and changed the sizings to suit my card.

This is my attempt at a masculine card - first in a long time!!  I had this stamped image from the Amazing Silhouettes on my desk for ages and didn't know what to do with it - until today!!  I have watercoloured the tree using Old Olive and Crumb Cake inks and a water painter.  This filled in the white silhouette part and created MORE for the tree..... which I liked so much better.

I then sponged the background using Daffodil Delight and Pale Papaya using the blending brushes.  I also added extra stamping using the Oceanfront stamp set and Mossy Meadow and Cinnamon Cider inks.  My finishing touch is some of the absolutely stunning Pebbles Enamel Shapes

Inside my card repeats the same stamping, and the same torn edge as the front.  I've added a fun greeting from the Flowing Flowers stamp set.  The Happy Birthday on the front comes from Turtle Friends.  I initially created this card for my brother's birthday, but I ended up loving it so much that I sent him another card from my stash!!!

Up next is the amazing Michelle!!

We love to share our projects with you so you are inspired to join with us in the challenge!!  Add your projects to our Facebook Challenge page here.

Happy Birthday Scrapbooking Blog Hop!

Hello and Welcome to another brilliant blog hop sharing some amazing Scrapbooking inspiration.

We have a monthly hop, so if you love scrapping and need to get the creative juices flowing, make sure you check in every month to see the latest!!

The theme this month is Happy Birthday which is super fun AND chosen by me this month as it was my own birthday recently!!

My page is about ME!!  And it was inspired by the flowers given to me by our children AND it's a very Julia page full of vintage and shabby chic details - I love this style but don't do it very often as I'm not very confident.  Some of the other design team members of this group are BRILLIANT with vintage and they inspire me every month!!  And I was equally inspired by an amazing card made by Lezards de Cilou here

I've used Ranunculus Romance, Quiet Meadow and the Calming Camellia stamp sets.  My colours are Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue and Petal Pink.

I've used lots of different dies - Tailor Made Tags, Ornate Frames, Bloom Dies, Ranunculus Dies, Painted Labels Dies.  All of them were sponged using blending brushes and either Soft Suede, Crumb Cake or Balmy Blue.

I love all the ephemera stamping from all of these stamp sets.  My background was also created by tearing some Vanilla cardstock and also a sheet of the Printed Vellum.

I've used some of the lovely cotton ribbon combo pack which worked well with my Petal Pink coloured flowers.  I used Petal Pink, and Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends.

My main feature embellishment is the Calming Camellia which I've coloured, fussy cut some layers, and then added highlights using a blender pen and white craft ink.  Under the flower peeking out is some Supple Shimmer die cut fronds from the Ranunculus dies.

I love how my page has turned out as much as I loved my day with my family!!  I have more photos of the rest of the day that will be on a scrap page very soon.

The title of the page is hidden amongst all the other elements on my page!!  I really LOOOOOVE the font in this gorgeous Calming Camellia stamp set!

Up next is the super talented Sharon!!  It was HER birthday this month too!!!

Here is the link for everybody in case you get lost along the way.

Have you checked out what's FREE this month during our Sale-a-bration?

This is how you could earn the stunning Calming Camellia stamp set I used on my page.

If you need everything, I think you need to join my team!!  It's so worth it!
