Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.
Tonight I'm hopping with an awesome bunch of talented Australian crafters who love sharing with you!!

This month, we are exploring Background Techniques making the background of cards look more interesting. That could mean embossing, tone on tone stamping, scoring, splatter, smooshing, weaving strips...... the list is almost endless!!

I'm using the fabulous Water and Dotted Lines Masks for my background treatment. I've paired that with stamping, splattering and sponging.
For the masking, I've used a bunch of colours to create a multicoloured look - Golden Glow, Peacan Pie, Basic Gray and even some Barely Blush!! I then took the mask away and then used my blending brushes all over the image again to give even more depth.
I've then splattered in the corners using Peaceful Pine Stampin' Blends and the Golden Glow glimmer brush - you can see the effect a bit clearer on the inside of the card.
And then I stamped in the corners using Fern and Flora stamp sets with the lovely leafy feature. This is using Peaceful Pine ink too. The greeting comes from the Phrases and Frames stamp set which fits perfectly into the frame from the Fern and Flora stamp set!! A couple of die cut leaves from the Fern and Flora dies from Peaceful Pine and Pecan Pie cardstocks. And the end result is that I LOVE my card!!
