Scrapbooking Blog Hop - transport theme!

Hello and Welcome to our Monthly Scrapbooking Blog Hop!!

This is an amazing International group sharing fantastic Scrapbooking Inspiration featuring Stampin' Up! products.

This month, the challenge is Mode of Transport - a perfect theme for all the holiday makers!!

AND, for this little scrapbooker, the only mode of transport I could think of was WALKING!!  We do a lot of bushwalking so I knew there was lots that I could use for my pages.  We recently went on a camping trip to the Bunya Mountains where we did a lot of bushwalking.  It's our first time there and we had a really great time.

The lovely A Walk in the Forest paper worked perfectly for my page AND it's a wonderful fundraising paper.  In Australia, the fundraiser is for the Anglicare Tots and Toys - every pack sold gives $4.25 to the charity - how amazing is that!!

I've also had a great time using the lovely Merriest Trees bundle for some sweet trees stamped in the background AND for the die cut trees from the A Walk in the Forest paper which coordinates perfectly.  I also love the tag die which is part of the Merriest Trees set too.

And Alphabets are FANTASTIC for scrapbooking too!  Here I've used the Alphabest set and the Alphabet A La Mode dies together.

AND you absolutely MUST use adhesive sheet on these dies to help them stick perfectly!!

As you can see I ended up having enough photos to make a double spread!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing inspiration!!

It's all about the walking scrapbook page

O Holy Night inspiration - love this Suite!!

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.

This week, we are CASEING the gorgeous O Holy Night Suite in the new Mini Catalogue.

I think you'll see pretty quickly where my inspiration comes from!!  This card was a super fun way to use lots of gorgeous glittery gold papers!

The Stars at Night dies are fabulous - and include this lovely background die that shows the super sparkly More Dazzle paper behind the Blueberry Bushel paper.

I've stamped a few stars and also sponged a bit of ink over the blueberry bushel cardstock using blueberry bushel ink giving a lovely tone on tone effect.

My card base is one of the gorgeous printed gold cards and envelopes.  I folded it inside out and then added another z fold for the front panel.

The tiny gold stars have been die cut using the NEW online gold sparkle paper that already has adhesive on the back of it - sooo easy to use!

Make sure you keep hopping around everyone one to see lots of great inspiration!

Check out more inspiration here on our Facebook page too!!

Colouring - ink and water VS Stampin Blends - see the difference

Hello and Welcome to our fabulous colour challenge!!

This group shares great inspiration all using the same colours - you'll be amazed at the variety of projects!!

I have used these colours for some practice colouring techniques - using ink and water painter for the cards on white bases, and Stampin' Blends for the cards on Balmy Blue bases - so, what do you think?  Which do you prefer and why?

My first card below was painted onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper using inks and a waterpainter.  The image was stamped using Saddle Brown Stazon Ink.

Using the Fluid 100 paper really allowed me to give a lot more intensity for the colouring.  I was able to add a lot more layering of ink and blending the colour.

Here is a card using Basic White cardstock and water painter and Ink again with Saddle Brown for the image stamping - this ink is solvent based and so perfect for using with water painters as it doesn't bleed.  The colour is a lot softer on the basic white cardstock.

This is water painter and ink onto basic white cardstock - just a different stamped image.  I have used the lovely Eucalyptus embossing folder in the background.

This is the first of the 2 cards using Stampin' Blends for the same image.  The background stamped was done using Pecan Pie ink which  does not bleed when using the alcohol markers.  I've coloured onto basic white cardstock.  Using the blends allows for a soft blending of colour and you can keep adding layers of colour which allows some great depth of colour.

This card is the same, but I've used Very Vanilla cardstock for the circle image - along with the deckled circles dies instead of the deckled rectangle dies that are used on the other cards.

Inside the card is some simple shapes and greetings.

This card also features some splattering using the Pecan Pie Stampin' Blend.

So, which would be your favourite way to colour?  And which effect do you like best?  I'd love to know what you think!!
