Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING a Kit!!  Which is PERFECT for the silly busy season!

I'm adapting the stunningly elegant Thankyou Kindly Kit for Christmas Cards - and I LOVE the results!

I've made the cards almost identically to the ones in the kit and substituted out the greetings for some of the totally GORGEOUS Greetings for You Mix and Match Ephemera pack (which are ACTUALLY on special at the moment and on the Last Chance List - and totally perfect for making quick Christmas Cards!!)

I've also added some gorgeous Black and Gold and White Bakers twine and some Iridescent Foil Gems because you ALWAYS need sparkle for Christmas!!

Here's a little video showing how I put these lovelies together!!

A Child is Born decoration for your tree

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm hopping with an awesome bunch of talented Australian crafters who love sharing with you!!

This month, we are sharing Christmas decorations!

This is a gift I've made for my beautiful friends in my prayer group.  I love this lovely evocative image of the Holy Family.  And I had an amazing time colouring in a BUNCH of these decorations!

I've also used some lovely leafery dies with Silver Foil from the Peaceful Garden dies, and the Delicate Pines dies.  The label for the words comes from the Beautiful Butterflies dies.  And the large circle in the gorgeous gold hoop comes from the Ornamental Christmas dies.

I added another circle and star on the reverse of the ornament (mainly to cover up the colour you could see on the reverse of the coloured image as I've used Stampin' Blends which are alcohol based and bleed through the cardstock.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing inspiration just for you!

Cindy's Chain Swap F

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Today I'm joining the amazing Card Swap Chain Blog Hop with 10 amazing Australian cardmakers.  Our blog hop today is a celebration of the amazing cards we sent and received when we embarked on a fun journey sending cards to each other over a period of months.  It's a card version of "Chinese Whispers".  Each of us designed a card and sent if off to one of the other participants. That person then CASED the card and sent their own version to the next person.  To CASE is to Copy and Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit.  Each person's card made it's way around all 10 of us until finally a verson came home to the designer.  And Now, we are sharing these gorgeous card designs with YOU.  Enjoy the amazingness of everyone's cards and designs.

Today we are sharing a wonderful card designed by  Cindy in Chain Swap F

My card diverged somewhat from Cindy's card with the large butterfly making the same impact as the original large square.

I love the two little butterflies at the top replicating the two flowers, and the great big greeting that becomes the hero of the card!

Follow the blog hop ALL the way around to see the evolution of her gorgeous card.

Make sure you keep hopping to see this amazing evolution!!

Magical Blues CTC#548

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING the colours from the gorgeous Lights of Aurora DSP

Now, you probably know I'm not a pink or purple kind of gal, but these colours are just extraordinary together!!  And when I was in church this morning for the First Sunday of Advent, the colours are very reminiscent of our liturgical furnishings for the next four weeks!!  And they are beautiful!

I've used the Balmy Blue for my cardbase, and first layer, and then with blending brushes added the Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst and Gorgeous Grape.  I also flicked these colours using Stampin' Blends.  The trees are from the Ornamental Christmas stamp set using Memento Black ink.  AND then I flicked Wink of Stella - which made some huge sparkly features!!

The greeting has been die cut from the Words of the Season dies using two tone Pool Party cardstock.
