We are sharing our inspiration for December - and for me that's always going to be Christmas!

I made this card many times when I demonstrated it at all the Sunshine Coast Libraries during december!!  I've used the amazing Textured Stripes mix and match cards and envelopes for my card base - such a great way to get started!!

This has be paired with the lovely Traditions of Christmas designer paper and the lovely Traditional Labels bundle - AND a greeting from the Jolly Holly stamp set, and a dove from the Peace on Earth dies.

Genna's Card Swap H

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Today I'm joining the amazing Card Swap Chain Blog Hop with 10 amazing Australian cardmakers.  Our blog hop today is a celebration of the amazing cards we sent and received when we embarked on a fun journey sending cards to each other over a period of months.  It's a card version of "Chinese Whispers".  Each of us designed a card and sent if off to one of the other participants. That person then CASED the card and sent their own version to the next person.  To CASE is to Copy and Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit.  Each person's card made it's way around all 10 of us until finally a verson came home to the designer.  And Now, we are sharing these gorgeous card designs with YOU.  Enjoy the amazingness of everyone's cards and designs.

Today we are sharing a wonderful card designed by Genna in Chain Swap H
Follow the blog hop ALL the way around to see the evolution of her gorgeous card.

This was a very interesting card to stamp and create the image again!!  I cut all of the cardstock into the appropriate shapes and then lay them on top of each other where I wanted them to go.

I then repeatedly stamped the grasses and reeds ensuring the cardstock didn't move at all!!  When I was finished stamping, I then layered each of the panels onto the Cloud Cover cardstock and repositioned them on the card.  This covers that non-stamped bit in between the layers!!

Inside is some more lovely stamping!!
Make sure you keep hopping to see this amazing evolution!!

Mini Catalogue Inspiration CTC#550

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING anything in the Mini Catalogue!! This is our last blog hop for 2025 and our fabulous September to December mini catalogue finishes at the end of this month too!

I have just LOOOOOVED the gorgeous Peaceful Garden Suite on pages 32 to 35.

I've CASED the lovely front design of the card on page 32 but flipped it sideways for the front panel of my fun Corner Fold card.  The front embossed panel is the lovely white VELVET!!

I repeated the same layout for inside the card adding an extra little piece for the top corner.  The stamped greeting comes from the lovely Jolly Holly stamp set.

I love the gorgeous dove die cut from the velvet and than lightly coloured with a blending brush and a touch of Misty Moonlight ink.

The Measurements for the cardstock is:
Secret Sea card base 10.5 x 14.5 cm
Front Misty Moonlight panel 10 x 14cm
White Velvet front 9.5 x 13.5cm
Peaceful Garden designer paper 19.5 x 15.5 and scored on the long side at 14 and then at 10cm on the short side.  Then score diagonally across the join of both score lines!!

Up next is the extraordinary Kathryn

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of great ideas!

Christmas with a difference CI#201

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

If you know me, you'll realise that these colours brought a huge grimace to my face!!!  They are VERY different colours for Christmas (I believe!!)  AND I REALLY struggle to use Melon Mambo and never use it (unless I have to!! lol)

But, my card turned out ok!!  I think the glorious Branching Out stamp set really made working with these colours super easy!!

And then, the gorgeous Gold Foil really helped bring the whole card to life along with the blending of the Pretty Peacock in the background I think!

Those cute ornaments come from the Jar of Joy stamp set!  And where is the Melon Mambo you might ask?  It's the teeny tiny dots scrattered around the leaves (smallest amount of use possible!!)

And finally the lovely greeting comes from the Decorative Trees stamp set!

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations of the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page.
