Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - gorgeous Online Exclusives

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

This month we are featuring Online Exclusives for our blog hop!!  And I hope you're getting LOTS of great ideas!

I've decided to feature one of our great kits which are part of the Online Exclusive offerings - as well as some gorgeous new products coming in July!!  And I've used them to create a scrapbook page.

I'm featuring the Birthday Sparkle kit which includes some great stamps and gorgeous gold details on Crumb Cake card bases.  This was the starting point for my colour scheme.

I'm also featuring some Gold Mercury Vellum to continue the gold theme.

To enhance the Gold Mercury Vellum, there are also a couple of little pieces of Season of Green and Gold paper coming next month die cut using the Greetings of the Season Dies.

The little tag and cake topper come from the Birthday kit - but don't they work well on the page!

The stamping for Happy Birthday comes from a combination of the Greetings for the Season and Everyday Greetings stamp sets which are part of the Online Exclusives coming in July.

My final touch was some metallic gems and bows coming from the Birthday Sparkle kit.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots more amazing inspiration!!

Please head over to my online store if you wish to see these products in more detail - and you can place your order anytime (if you're in Australia) while you're there (even if you're in your pyjamas!!)
And, if you can see yourself creating cards and sharing your love of papercrafts while inspiring others, perhaps you might be interested in joining my Stampin' Up! family - contact me to find out how.

Inspired by Masking CTC#474

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

It's time for our weekly CASEING the CATTY inspiration for you!!  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we lovt to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogue.

This week, we are CASEING a Technique - there are about 8 pages of amazing techniques in our new catalogue and I love them ALL.  I am holding a class next week learning about MASKING - so our theme for this hop is perfect!!

I was inspired by the gorgeous butterfly card in the catalogue.  I used the masking tape exactly as it illustrated in the catalogue to create a frame around the edges of my white cardstock.  I also die cut the smallest circle from the Sylish Shapes dies for the moon shape.

I then used blending brushes to create a sky and sea (I did try my brayer as the catalogue did, but I was a total failure at that so went with something easier for me to teach!!!)

While the masking paper was still in place, I then stamped the fish and the reverse side of the fish with white ink to create a cloudy(ish) sky.  After I (VERY GENTLY) removed the masking paper, I then stamped the turtle half in and half out of the scenery.

I added some Wink of Stella for the moon and shine on the sea, and some gorgeous flat pearls.

Inside the card is very simple with some sponging - maybe I could have stamped some more little fish?  What do you think?

Please head over to my online store if you wish to see these products in more detail - and you can place your order anytime (if you're in Australia) while you're there (even if you're in your pyjamas!!)

Round We Go fun pop up card

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm using the great Colour INKspiration challenge to help my cardmaking!

The colours are just fantastic - and so easy to use for so many amazing projects!

I created this card on our team day - one of my team brought along the Round We Go bundle and we all had a great time playing and creating rosettes!

I've used the lovely Pretty in Pink DSP as well as the Dotty embossing folder to continue the circle theme suggested by the Round We Go bundle.

Inside the card is a super fun fold inspired by the amazing Melissa Faust here

I love the way this fold lets the card shine both on the front and inside!!

The fold is quite easy to do and has so much potential for fun cards!!

I've also used the lovely In Colour Shimmer Gems and Black bakers twine to continue the colour theme of our card tonight.

This is a super card to give to someone super special!

Here's a video creating this fun fold!!  Enjoy!
