Cottage Greetings

This card was inspired by the sketch challenge this week at JUST ADD INK.
JAI #275

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to do a little peek-a-boo card - and that was my starting point!

I punched my circle from my card, and then thought, ... now what? I looked at my collection of  Embossing folders and then my card design was done - some woodgrain immediately gave me the ideas to make this little cutie!!  I stamped inside the circle with Hardwood and then punched my little bird with our lovely new corrugated cardstock.   I love the wing made from a paper doily - isn't that so sweet!!

and then to embellish my little 'birdhouse', I stamped the tiny flower from Cottage Greetings and punched it with the Tree Builder punch - the shape it not totally exact, but it's pretty jolly close!!  I was thrilled with the effect!

To make those little tiny flowers see fuller I then punched with the Itty Bitty flower punch and added some branches from the bird builder punch.

The greeting also comes from Cottage Greetings - and it's wrapped with some silver bakers twine around some Tip Top Taupe punched with the little banner punch!!  LOTS of punches used on this card!!

Butterfly Basics - SUO cards without words

We are celebrating cards without a greeting on the front this week at SUO.  And sometimes these are really the most useful cards because you can then write all the important things inside the card.

The possibilities are endless!!  So join in the fun this week with our challenge.  Simply click on this link and visit the blog to see the gorgeous work shared by our design team for your inspiration.

I'm on the team at SUO!

My card uses images from Butterfly Basics which I've watercoloured, and then I've mounted the image to look like an artwork you might put into a frame.  The only embellishment is a couple of strands of burlap at the bottom of the image for textural interest.

Berry Merry sneak peek

This is a gorgeous new bundle in our upcoming Holiday catalogue - the Boughs and Berry's Embossing folder and teh Berry Merry stamp set - and they would make a great set of quick and easy cards.

Artistic Expression in our Catalogue

Welcome to our CASE of the Artistic Expression Chapter of our Annual Catalogue.  If you've hopped over here from Stasia's lovely project, you are very welcome, or if you  start here, be sure to keep going all the way around the hop to see everyone's awesome creations!!

Personally, this is one of my favourite chapters in the Catalogue - I really really love watercolouring!!  So I've CASED the card on page 113 - just changed a few colours, but that's it - the rest is the same.

This is a lovely design, and I'm thinking I might be using this layout again sometime in the future!!

This chapter is so gorgeous I've used it for our hop through NEXT week too - so be sure to come back and check it out next Friday night!!

Now it's time to hop on over to see Kathryn's inspirational project!

Bemuda Birthday Blossoms

Bemuda Bay is one of my favourites!! So when I saw the awesome colour challenge from Claire at Paper Playes, I really had to join in!! And the lovely sketch from Karren at Freshly Made Sketches made the card come together in a snap!!

This is a very pretty stamp set and it coordinates with the great pansy punch.  The leaves I've cut by hand, and the flower and leaves were gently coloured with an aqua painter to blend the ink.

This is my response to this great inspiration from Just Add Ink this week - what a great challenge!

JAI #274

I trying to do some more scrapping at the moment, and this challenge worked really well for my husband's birthday page - even with all the girls this challenge helped the page have a more masculine theme with the lovely woodwork and earthy tones.

The colours are great too!!!

Choose Happiness in a Beachy Theme!!

We are currently in Winter here in Queensland, but because we live in the tropics, we've just had a gorgeous camping holiday at the beach!!
How very blessed we are - living close to the beach AND living in the tropics!!

And so, for our class this week, we will be completing this holiday page - and we are using Choose Happiness as our stamp set - how versatile it this stamp set!!!

There are lots of little flag details using envelope paper and the lovely Colour Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper, and a little piece of Cherry on Top too!!

I'm entering this page into 2 challenges this week - as Summer is being celebrated and enjoyed overseas, everyone wants to enjoy the Beach Life!!

Crafty Boots Challenges and

Just click on each of the images to go and see some lovely Beachy Inspiration!!!

Birthday Blossoms

I'm having a play with my new stamp set - you've totally got to love a stamp set that has gorgeous fonts and greetings, as well as a great flower that coordinates with a punch - easy peasy crafting!!

This card coordinates Birthday Blossoms with Petite Petals and uses the great colours from the colour challenge at JAI this week AND it's a little square card too!!

Be sure to jump on over to these two challenge sites and check out all the fantastic inspiration from the design teams!!

What do you think of the vellum brick wall?? Doesn't it look fabulous!!
And those little flower centres were punched from some washi tape stuck onto cardstock using the little flower from the Tree Builder Punch, and the larger flowers feature a 1/2" circle and washi tape centres!!  What a great way to have some lovely shiny centres!!!

SUO butterlifes!!

Did you know that there are 11 stamp sets in our current annual catalogues that feature butterflies????
I flipped through and counted them!!!

And butterflies are the feature for our challenge this week at SUO, so have a look at your collection of butterflies and enter into the fun at SUO this week!!
(Just click on the graphic and head on over to SUO Challenges and see the awesome butterfly projects from our design team - you will be inspired!!)

I'm on the team at SUO!

My card features the little butterflies from Perpetual Birthday Calendar in the background on the embossed Brick Wall, and then Butterfly Basics for the other butterflies. Before using the embossing folder I inked it with some Sahara Sand too - just to give the bricks a little extra definition.  You should try this quick and easy idea too!!
I punched the gorgeous lace butterfly with the Elegant Butterfly punch instead of using the framelit this time.  What do you think?  It looks totally different cut out this way!!

And the lovely ferns and flowers also come from Butterfly Basics - if you have a challenge about butterflies you really DO need to use the stamp set called Butterfly Basics don't you!
