Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.
Today is Scrapbooking Global day!! Each month we share some great inspiration for you1!
This month, I got to choose the theme, and I've chosen one of my favourites - using ephemera - because we have LOTS of great elements in our Mixed Ephemera packs AND in all of our Scrapbooking Kits which makes putting together your project really much quicker and easier!!
My project is a gift for a baby shower. I used ALL of the elements of the Storybook Life Scrapbooking Kit as well as ephemera from the Storybook Moments Designer Paper AND some words from our Greetings for All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack.
To keep the Mini Album safe, I packaged it into one of our kit boxes and used all the remaining ephemera pieces to embellish.
I have also used Flip Flaps to create extra pages and places for photos in the album. This frame comes from the Scrapbooking Kit, and I layered it onto extra cardstock for more stability, and cut out the centre so a photo could be placed inside the flip flap.
I decorated both sides of the flip flap so photos would be showcased on both sides.
I have lots of photos now of each of the pages showing the fabulous ephemera from both the scrapbooking kit and the specialty designer papers. It made it so easy to add little bits and pieces to the album to embellish pages and photo mats.
Each of the pages has a bit of a theme to make it easier for me to create - this one is the blue pages (the baby is a boy).
This is the bunny pages.
Had to have a strawberry page using this lovely kit!
I used the instructions in the Scrapbooking Kit to help me with the layouts - even though each of my pages is only 6 x 6 inches (and I usually scrap 12 x 12 inch pages) I adapted the embellishment for the smaller page.
Here's a carrot page!! (This amused me!)
This tartan gardening page has 2 flip flaps - one for the frame and one on the right hand side.
The 2 ovals on this spread come from inside of both of the frames - waste not, want not!
And my last double page spread is another Strawberry page - using up all those elements in the kit!
Here's a video showing you page by pages.
I really hope YOU are inspired to try this!! Up next is lovely Cheryl.
Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AMAZING projects!!
