Fun Pop Up Coloured Card CTC#483

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING the colours of some DSP - the colours are:  Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Real Red and Blackberry Bliss.

You may notice that there's not much Blackberry Bliss on my card....... because I was using Water Colour Pencils for my colouring and there's not a Blackberry Bliss pencil!!  So there's a teeny tiny bit on the inside!  See if you can find it!

I've really loved this fun pop up card, and the combination of the Dotty embossing folder and circle focus works so nicley!

Inside is another circle with the feature coloured.  I've used FLUID 100 watercolour paper and watercolour pencils blended using a Blender Pen.  I love the gorgeous smooth effect.

Can you see the very subtle Blackberry Bliss?????

Up next is the extraordinary Rachel and her lovely tree card.

Make sure you keep hopping all the way around!

Fun Backbround Scrapbooking Techniques just for you!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today is Scrapbooking Global day!! Each month we share some great inspiration for you1!

This month the amazing Caz Hurst has a really cool challenge for us!  The theme is all about background texture and stencils.

I've created my own stencils and used masking for my background detail for this double page spread.

The first thing I did was to die cut all of the clouds from the Adventurous Sky dies using the Masking paper.  I stuck these dies across the top of my page AND a piece of cardstock for my horizon edge, and then used a blending brush and Azure Afternoon to colour the sky.

After I'd done this colouring for the sky, I then removed the masks I'd made from the dies, and then stamped the clouds into the spaces.  I used Azure Afternoon ink but stamped off a couple of times first so that the colour was much lighter.

I then changed over my horizon line mask piece of cardstock to cover the sky, and then used a blending brush and Azure Afternoon AND Summer Splash ink for the water of the sea.  This time I used a lot more ink to give solid colour.

After I took away the horizon mask I think spritzed all my blending using water and the spritzer for some little splotches of white colour.  I then stamped the cute fish using Summer Splash and the Sea Turtle stamp set.

THEN, I created another stencil using the Gone Fishing dies and the fish shape to cut out a bunch of fish using Window Sheet.

To create the fish I used the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and repeated the stenciled fish all the way along the bottom of my pages.  I also added a little Summer Splash ink using a blending brush.

After all that background work, then I didn't want to do too much else!!  So I stamped and cut a couple of turtles, and create journalling panels from the Greetings of the Season dies.

And here is my scrap cardstock that I used for my horizon mask, and the cloud masks and also I used this scrap for all the stamping off too!! (behind the scenes work!!)

I really hope YOU are inspired to try this!!
Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AMAZING projects!

Super Pretty combination for our colour challenge this week!!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

I could not go past the super gorgeous tea cup, so pulled out my Everyday Details stamp set which features a tea cup (and other cool images too!)

I've combined the repeat cups with one of the Everyday Details dies creating a fun framework for my stack!

The tea cups are coloured using Stampin' Blends in all of the colours.

And one extra cute cup for inside the card.  The flowers on each of the cups were coloured using Berry Burst and then I blended and softened this colour using the Colour Lifter so the white and Berry Burst were not quite so stark together.

Make sure you check out all the amazing projects on our Facebook Private Group Page.

Welcome to this month Scrapbook Inspiration!!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today, I'm keen to share some Scrapbooking Inspiration with you!!

Our Blog Hop is anything goes in our scrapbooking.  I love being part of this blog hop because it gets me scrapping every month!!  I love the deadline of actually getting my pages done!

My layout for this page is basically a large circle creating a wreath design with my photos inside.

It's a very simple page and features Copper Clay and Soft Sea Foam - what a lovely combination!!

I've used the really cool Friends for Life bundle - which works so well for our photos of our children and friends!

There's a combination of die cut leaves, stamped leaves on the scrap page, and also stamped and die cut leaves.  For the "flower" elements on my page I've substituted hearts.

My finishing touches is some Copper Clay twine (coming soon in our new mini catalogue - I just love getting things early!!) and some Earthen Tones gems also coming soon!

Make sure you keep hopping for LOTS more great Scrapbooking Inspiration!! <
