Big Shot fun in the Holiday Catalogue CTC#150

Hello and Welcome to our fabulous CASEing the Catty Sunday night blog hop!!

We are inspired to create using the awesome projects featured in our Stampin' Up! catalogues.

And this week, we are featuring our favourite Big Shot project from the Holiday Catalogue.

I have been inspired by this gorgeous project at the top of  page 26 featuring the lovely Bethlehem Edgelits Dies.

Now the illustrated catalogue version shows an AMAZING mastery of sponging for the colour - this is not in my (accomplished) skill set!!  I'm not very good at sponging and building up colour smoothly.... but I didn't let this stop me.

I like my card, I do, and it does look lovely - especially that tremendously sparkly champagne foil featuring the Bethlehem edgelits!!  So long as you are careful not to compare it too closely to the original it looks ok.  But golly, I LOVE the example in the catalogue!!!!

So after this inspired attempt, I thought I would try another idea inspired by the same card AND inspired by the awesome project featured by Bronwyn Eastley here

My project has different dimensions - based on the length of the Bethlehem edgelits - but still has the same general idea.

I've stamped the greeting onto the back of my shadow box, and it folds flat to fit into a standard envelope.

I've used card stock measuring A4 in length x 10 1/2 cm and then scored along the long side at
12 1/2cm, 14 1/2cm, 27cm and 29cm.  The largest square from the stitched shapes framelits was used for the picture window.

I hope you've been inspired by my projects AND those of the whole team, and that you will show us your favourite Big Shot project in our Holiday catalogue too!!  You can add your project to our facebook challenge page so easily!!

And now it's time for you to continue hopping to see Sandra's gorgeous floral card!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia   x
